Our Knowledge Keepers
Who
we are
As Elders and Knowledge Keepers, we have been observing and talking about our people and lands since time immemorial. All of our knowledge is an invaluable source of information about the history of our people, our values, our natural environment, our plants and our animals. This traditional knowledge and our language is a cultural treasure for us to pass on to each new generation.

share your knowledge
As an Elder and Knowledge Keeper, you are not a self-taught individual. You have been gifted with your respective teachings by other Elders or Knowledge Keepers, typically over years of mentorship and teaching. Because of this, you play a central role in the community. You are a teacher within and beyond the community. It is a gift for you to share. As is your own story.
And as Elder and Knowledge Keeper, you can share your teachings with the spoken word, the written word, and even with video. Our Story Warriors — the youth of our community — can learn both from you and help you preserve your teachings and stories.
We invite you to share with the future generations your knowledge with:
stories
wellness teachings
knowledge of traditional plants and medicines
language
arts, crafts and songs
ceremonial knowledge and protocols
teachings
creation and origin stories
